Moduplay Embarks on Transformative Partnership with the Toyota Production System Support Centre (TSSC)

Moduplay is proud to announce the beginning of a new journey in operational excellence through a collaboration with the Toyota Production System Support Centre (TSSC). Toyota’s Production System (TPS) is renowned worldwide for its focus on eliminating waste, improving efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. By working closely with TSSC, Moduplay aims to adopt these principles across its day-to-day operations, benefiting not only Moduplay itself but the entire Moduplay Group.

A key reason for embracing TPS is the proven success it has already delivered within the Moduplay Group. Kaebel Leisure —a member of the Moduplay Group—partnered with TSSC in the past, significantly reducing lead times and improving manufacturing workflows. This achievement demonstrated how Toyota’s principles could be successfully adapted to help companies refine processes and deliver better value to their customers.

“Our primary objective is to streamline the process of getting the correct hardware to site in a manner that is completely clear to the installer,” explains Steve Cortie, Product Design Engineer at Moduplay and project lead for this initiative. “Although the work we’re doing may not look particularly glamorous at this stage, this is a really crucial time for us to start developing practical solutions that will help pave the way for a more efficient and feedback-driven production process.”

A key element of this venture involves thoroughly mapping out our existing workflows and identifying common points where issues arise. The team will then systematically refine each step by:

  1. Defining clear processes – Pinpointing exactly where and how current bottlenecks occur, and determining what ‘good’ and ‘ideal’ look like.
  2. Establishing sustainable feedback loops – Ensuring input from every stage of the process can be gathered and acted upon on an ongoing basis.
  3. Seeking incremental improvements – Working methodically from the point of defect detection back through the system, addressing root causes and implementing the core principles of the Toyota Production System.

These steps echo the ethos of TPS: continuous improvement (kaizen), respect for people, and the elimination of waste.

TSSC is known for its hands-on approach and a long track record of successful projects. Critically, TSSC also places a strong emphasis on people development and empowerment, equipping team members at all levels with the mindset and skills to identify and solve problems from within. Moduplay’s decision to partner with TSSC signals a strong commitment to elevating the group’s standards and setting new benchmarks in product quality, efficiency, and reliability.

“We are thrilled to be working with TSSC,” says Steve Quinsey, CEO of Moduplay Group. “Seeing the success this system brought to Kaebel Leisure within our group really reaffirmed the value of applying Toyota’s Production System. By extending those learnings group-wide, we expect not only reduced lead times, but a sustained culture of continuous improvement across all companies within the Moduplay Group.”

Moduplay’s commitment to adopting TPS is clear. By focusing on structured processes, welcoming feedback, and investing in solutions that simplify installation and production workflows, Moduplay intends to strengthen its operations while sharing best practices across its wider network.

In true TPS fashion, the next steps involve continuing to test new & standardised procedures—ensuring every improvement is measured, refined, and firmly embedded in our daily routines. Through this collaborative effort with TSSC, Moduplay plans to further reinforce its reputation for delivering world-class products and services.
