The Moduplay Story

Bringing Play to the World since 1989

In 1983, three brothers Roger, Ben and Athol Quinsey, began a home-based business supplying residential backyard Cubby houses.

In 1989, the business became known as All Parks Equipment, opening an office space in Unanderra, just south of Wollongong on the coast of NSW, supplying commercial Play Equipment.

Over time it became apparent that the supplier would be unable to service the NSW market, so the decision was made to commence manufacturing our own products in Unanderra.

In 1995, the trade name “Moduplay” came into use. As the business grew rapidly, we needed a name that reflected the popularity of our products. The same year extending the factory allowing an increase in production and taking the roto moulding process in-house. This improved the service and delivery times that we could offer to our growing list of clients. By 2003, the Moduplay factory had doubled in size to increase production and keep up with growing demand.

It also meant we could work towards our longer-term goal of bringing more specialised manufacturing processes in-house, such as CNC machining and the installation of a powder coating line, giving us much greater control over quality standards and delivery times.

Increasing their portfolio and product range, Precinct Street & Park was formed in 2010 to offer a dedicated product range of urban furnishings and shelters. Moduplay and Precinct then became a division of “Moduplay Group Pty Ltd” umbrella brand. This allowed greater focus on market segments that, whilst similar, required a dedicated service to truly take care of our client’s needs in these areas.

In 2015, UrbanFiT Outdoor Gyms was formed – a new division of Moduplay Group. The creation of UrbanFiT was new experience in Australian made outdoor gym equipment.

Playground Parts was then launched in 2021 – the latest addition to Moduplay Group. A website for purchasing play equipment spare parts and playground maintenance products.

Today, Moduplay Group is a leading manufacturer of outdoor recreation products, serving a diverse range of clients across Australia and the world.
